Ever come home from work, your back and
neck are in knots, your feet hurt and your body feels run down. Just about
every day, right?
Dont you just crave for someone to
just get on your body to work out tight muscles and help you relax?
This is
why massage chairs have become one of the popular home therapy products on the
market today. Owning a massage chair means being able to have a massage
whenever you want and it never says not now, dear.
Since we
are practicing massage therapists, we know that a massage chair can never
replace the experience of a hands-on full body massage. But, very few of us can
afford or have the time to see a massage therapist every day.
Massage
chairs are designed to give a very effective mechanical massage to the areas of
the body most people complain about, mainly the neck, back, hips and
feet.
Massage
chairs are not for everyone, depending on their health conditions. We have
personally known people who have medical conditions that contraindicate using a
massage chair, go into the back stores and the staff tries to sell
them a chair without qualifying them. If you are considering purchasing a
massage chair, please consult with our staff therapists first, regardless of
which chair you decide to purchase.
There are
over 30 different lines of massage chairs to choose from and but we only wanted
to carry the sturdiest, most effective chairs on the market. This is why we
wont carry the same chairs you see at the back stores or in
catalogs. They just dont measure up to ours.
HOW TO
BUY A MASSAGE CHAIR
There are
over 30 lines of massage chairs on the market, with brand names like Omega,
Premier, Popular, Interactive, Human Touch, Micro Touch and Pro-Med.. All of
them will tell you about their features but say nothing about what is really
important how they are made. Heres why.
All of
these chairs are made in Taiwan and 90% are made by Tai Sheng Manufacturing.
They make both the lower cost aluminum frame chairs and the higher cost steel
frame chairs. But some of the higher cost chairs are made with aluminum frames,
which can warp and break down over time. You need to find out what type of
frame the chair has before you buy.
The price
break between a low-quality and a high-quality chair is around $2500.00. Under
that price, the chair uses lower-quality components which will last around five
years and will give a weaker feeling massage. The high-quality chairs uses
larger and stronger components will last ten years or more and will give a
stronger massage.
Buying a
chair from an out-of-town company at a show or catalog can be risky. Your only
contact is an 800 number and if they go out of business, so goes your warranty.
After the first year, you will have to repair it yourself or spend $200-500 to
send it back to the factory.
You
wouldnt buy a car without test driving it so why would you buy a chair
without sitting in it. Every chair feels different, regardless of price. Spend
some time in it before purchasing. People who extremely short or tall will have
a different experience and will have to find a chair that matches their
height.
