Wayne Franson

I am a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and have had a private practice in a variety of professional settings since 1997. I am a volunteer member of the Government Relations Committee of the National Certification Board Of Therapeutic Massage And Bodywork and currently involved in the promotion of massage therapy to the public and the advancement of training and professionalism for massage therapists in California and nationally.

EDUCATION

1996-1998 500hr. Certified Therapeutic Massage Practitioner Program, Touching For Health School Of Professional Bodywork, Stockton, Ca. Classes include Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, Advanced Massage Theory and Practice, Acupressure, Hydrotherapy, Medical Terminology, Indications/Contraindications, Applied Kinesiology, and Structural Integration Techniques. Studies included 68hrs. of college- level Human Behavior taught by Beverly Breakey, MFCC.

1997-current 300hrs.+ Myofascial Release Training through Myofascial Release Seminars taught by John F. Barnes, P.T. Training includes physiology and anatomy, osteopathy, soft tissue, osseus and vertebral manipulation, structural integration and alignment techniques, pediatric therapies and cranial/sacral treatments. Training has included my working as student therapist in clinic and as assistant instructor at seminars.

  • 2001 - Passed National Certification Exam administered by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
  • 2000 - Yonka-Paris Skin Care – training in European Aromarine Body Treatments.
  • 2001 - Catherine Atzen Institute Of Skin Care –Medical Esthetics training focusing on Lymphobiology treatments for pre/post Plastic Surgery and post-mastectomy lymphatic drainage treatments.
  • 2001 - Kate Jordan Seminars – 34 hour certification program in Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage Therapy including Labor Massage.
  • 2002 - David Luther Seminars – Insurance Documentaion and Reimbursement/Professional Ethics.
  • 2002- Institute For Natural Resources – various courses taught by a non-profit scientific organization dedicated to research and education in the fields of science and medicine. Courses taken include:

EMPLOYMENT

2001- Built therapy center in Lodi, Ca. – BODYSPA – Therapeutic Day Spa and Wellness Center. Services included Nationally Certified Massage Therapy, Myofascial Release, European Spa Therapies and Wellness Programs.

1997-present Self-employed massage therapist. I have had a private practice in my own office in Sacramento, in a chiropractors office in Elk Grove and Stockton and at the Dermal Clinic in Lodi. I have performed over 5000hrs. of hands-on therapy on over 400 clients, 80% Female/20% Male.

1981-1998 - Self-employed owner of landscape construction firm.

1995 - Obtained State Insurance License, briefly worked for Prudential Insurance Co.
